What do you find appealing about your character? Do you have anything in common with them?
My first impression was that it was hard to tell his age from his appearance, so I thought he might be close to my own age. When I read his profile though, I saw he was 35… A mature older gentleman. And he has a mature sexiness that comes across from the text, so the question was how to capture that in my performance. I don’t think I have that level of mature charm and sexiness myself, personally… But that’s part of Mitsunari’s appeal, I think, so I wanted to make sure I expressed it well. As far as common points go, our blood type is the same, and we’re about the same height.
The SA Cronos transform when their adrenaline levels are high. If you were an SA Cronos, what would cause you to transform?
When I’m standing in the recording booth and the director says “go,” or when I step out in front of everyone for an event, or when I’m at a play or a reading and the lights in the theater go down—that’s when my switch would flip.
What were your thoughts when you heard the theme of the game?
I guess you’d say I felt like I was a child again… When I was younger, I used to imagine “what if the world was like this? I bet it would be fun.” Reading about Tokyo Debunker brought that feeling back to life. It’s set in Shibuya, which made it easy to visualize everything. I realized it’s still a lot of fun to imagine a hidden world in Shibuya, even at my age.
